Suspended
No, we weren't bad in school, we went to Capilano Suspension Bridge!
Being the long weekend, it was a little crowded on the bridge but not too bad on the other side.
We saw lots of big, old trees,
walked the Cliff Hanger walk,
and climbed the Treetops Adventure (and felt a little bit like Ewoks!).
The girls liked looking at the fish in Three Sisters Pond
and collecting clues around the park to win a prize (their badges).
A "suspensefully" good day!

It's Not Just MOSTLY Dead...
...it's ALL dead. The raccoons killed our swimming pool! They didn't just kill it, they destroyed it! You can see the "crop circle" of where the pool used to be.
After they deflated it, they played with it and ripped it to pieces (well, one extra piece, anyway).
I'm guessing it was raccoons because a little while after I discovered our pool I saw a big one on our deck. The pool was on it's last leg, anyway. The middle section had deflated, and I'd already patched it a few times. I think next time we'll get a hard plastic one that can't be deflated!

Annual Shareholder's Meeting
Sounds boring, right? Especially when I say we were there for 7 hours! But we had the "meeting" at the waterslides, so it was lots of fun!
Kinda chilly, though. The weatherman said it would clear up by lunch, but it didn't.
Here's the partners with their future employees. Jordan is 3 weeks younger than Jaden.
Jaden liked splashing in the warm pool. He didn't get to go down any slides this year.
Rachael and Kaitlyn had lots of fun, even if it was cold. At least that meant the lineups were shorter.

Beach Baby
Darcy had Thursday off, and with the weatherman predicting warm temperatures we decided to head to our favorite beach.
Jaden enjoyed his first experience, staying cool in the shade.
Jaden enjoyed his first experience, staying cool in the shade.
As is tradition Darcy made a mini swimming hole. Darcy started doing this about 7 years ago, and since then we have graduated from the wimpy beach shovels to some heavy duty tools. Kaitlyn helped dig, too.
After digging the hole big enough, you fill it with water.
Then sit in the warm water and enjoy.
But one hole isn't enough when you have two girls!
So, repeat the process for girl #2.
Jaden decided he didn't need a little hole - he went for the big water!
Of course, no trip to the beach is complete without a treat or two.
Jaden had his own treat - his first experience drinking water from a cup! If we're thirsty, chances are he is, too. And besides, the water spilled on his tummy cools him off.
Rachael liked swimming and catching little fish.

Hamster Dance
There's a new kid in town. Rachael and Kaitlyn have been begging for a pet for a while, and Daddy (being the softie that he is) caved in. We went to the pet store yesterday "just to look." Famous last words. We got there and everything in the store was 50% off. So the girls got a pet hamster.
Her (at least, we're pretending it's a her - don't really know for sure and I don't care to look!) name is Lilly. I'm pretty impressed that the girls gave her a real name - not "Brownie" or "Hamsty" or "Fluffy." (They once had a toy rhino they wanted to name "Horney" - we tried to discourage that one!) For now the little furball is set up in their room, but he may end up down in the play room.
And the girls are thrilled.

I know time flies, but no, it's not Jaden! It's cousin Johnathan! We went over to their new house for his first birthday party, and I think it's safe to say Johnathan had fun. There were lots of presents, of course.
His favorite was a new car!
And there was cake.
He had his cake,
and he ate it, too! (I love the crooked party hat!)

Jaden's Cute....
....just in case you didn't know, but here's some pictures to prove it!
He's a little thumb-sucker, too! I tried to remove the ugly bib (he's SUCH a drooler!) but of course in the process, out came the thumb.
And he's starting to play with toys more now. He's not really reaching for things yet, but if you put a toy on his chest then he'll grab on to it.

Tired of Being Left Out
Jaden got a new high chair. Not that we're starting him on solids quite yet - he is only three months old.
Jaden was tired of being left out at meal times, and holding him while trying to eat isn't the easiest, so now he has his own place to sit. It's height-adjustable so it'll work at the island and at the table.
I think he likes it!
P.S. - I actally updated the house blog! Check it out!

Another Toothless Grin
This one-less-tooth grin is from Kaitlyn! She pulled out her first tooth after weeks of it hanging by a thread.

Like Rachael's front bottom teeth, the adult tooth grew in behind the baby tooth. But once Rachael's baby tooth came out the grown up tooth moved right in place, so I'm sure that's what Kaitlyn's will do.
(I hope!)
