There's a new kid in town. Rachael and Kaitlyn have been begging for a pet for a while, and Daddy (being the softie that he is) caved in. We went to the pet store yesterday "just to look." Famous last words. We got there and everything in the store was 50% off. So the girls got a pet hamster. 
Her (at least, we're pretending it's a her - don't really know for sure and I don't care to look!) name is Lilly. I'm pretty impressed that the girls gave her a real name - not "Brownie" or "Hamsty" or "Fluffy." (They once had a toy rhino they wanted to name "Horney" - we tried to discourage that one!) For now the little furball is set up in their room, but he may end up down in the play room. 
And the girls are thrilled.
